Signing up for group is a commitment for all meetings. Sessions will be recorded, though live attendance is most fruitful.

What to Expect in Ancestral Tending Groups?
There is a loose curriculum to our group meetings with built-in flexibility.

- Situate the ancestors within a kincentric worldview (where humans are not the center of the world)
- Decolonizing ways of knowing in order to connect with a wider field of support
- Connecting with wise ancestors
- Learning about Corn Mother, the practice of offerings, reciprocal care and connection
- Witness unwell ancestors and legacies of harm
- Welcoming support from Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki
- Engage a supported inquiry about repair and/or transformation in the ancestral web
- Liberation from colonized spirituality; learning everyday ritual, songs, ceremony
- Connect ancestral tending to pathways of spiritual activism

We enter this work as embodied beings. I have learned that pacing matters. That is why our groups are spaced out. I also include guidance in how to proceed from a trauma-informed perspective and with care for the nervous system. Our group experiences will also include Reiki for added support.

Ancestral Tending is food for the soul, and it is also a journey. My elders have taught me that we are living in times of profound susto. Sustos are held in our families, our peoples, and in the land. The experience of susto is one of rupture. Parts of our souls go into hiding or feel inaccessible, and in their wake we are left with trails of disruption, disconnection, and a sense of rootlessness.
As a result, sometimes we bump up against wounds as we do this work. That is why a great deal of our process together is learning to discern what is most accessible and what is most supportive for you. It may be that you don't want to connect with any human ancestors at all to begin with. Many people's families are in states that make them fearful of connecting with any human ancestors. We start where you are and what feels welcome to you. The web of support is wildly diverse and beautifully adept at meeting us where we can receive. All is not lost. |
